RED 2014/53/EZ

The RED 2014/53/EU (Radio Equipment Directive) is an EU directive that establishes a legal framework for placing radio equipment on the market in the European Union. Its main objective is to ensure a single market for radio equipment by setting essential requirements for the following areas: Safety and Health: Protection of the health and safety of persons, domestic animals, and property (e.g., electrical safety, exposure to electromagnetic fields). Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Ensuring that radio equipment does not cause unacceptable interference and is itself immune to interference. Efficient Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum: Ensuring that radio equipment uses the radio frequency spectrum efficiently and avoids harmful interference.
